Mobile and Pervasive Computing Services for Technology Executives
Overview
With around 3 billion mobile phone users worldwide, including several hundred million mobile Internet users, new wireless and pervasive computing services are changing the way enterprises interact with both their customers and their employees. The explosion in smart phone ownership, the adoption of faster wireless standards, and the emergence of different location tracking technologies are but a few factors contributing to the development of a slew of new services.
This four-day executive education program is intended for technology executives interested in understanding the opportunities and challenges associated with this fast moving area. At the end of the program, you will have gained familiarity with the state-of-the-art, and emerging trends and applications. Through demonstrations, case studies, discussions and hands-on exercises, you will have learned to think strategically about mobile and pervasive computing services and have gained a better appreciation of what it takes to gain traction in this area.
The program is based in part on Professor Norman Sadeh's best selling book, "M-Commerce: Technologies, Services, and Business Models" with Wiley and his work with Fortune 500 companies over the past decade. The program addresses business, usability, security and privacy issues, and exposes participants to some of the latest thinking in the area, including findings from recent research at Carnegie Mellon University.
